Y i pop up shop will be showcasing some of the North East greatest design talent. A rare opportunity to purchase purely locally designed products, with a range of items for sale, a one off event that should not be missed. The pop up shop aims to provide a great shopping experience whilst also supporting the designers involved, who gain 100% of the profit made with no shop mark up. Therefore any purchases made will support and nurture local talent, and help keep it local.
This is the maiden voyage for y i designs- pop up shop, but with a breadth of experience and talent from those designers involved, including major National and international trade shows like 100% Design, Stockholm Furniture Fair and imm Cologne to name just a few. This collaboration of talent will form to create a truly inspiring shop, which will show the breadth of creative flair that resides in the North East.
The inspiration behind the shop was to help anyone and everyone living in the North East to be more aware of the design talent that is established within the area. We hope to encourage our customers to shop local, to help support and keep the North East as a thriving design community. Helping people realize that the high street is not the only place to shop.
Curated by local designer Polly Westergaard who has been running her own design company “westergaard designs” for 3 years creating and selling her products both nationally and internationally. Polly Gains most of her sales through web based outlets but loves people to be able to see and engage with her products first hand. The pop up shop was formed as a perfect opportunity for people to see the work in the flesh. Polly was also keen to collate a group of local talented creatives, to showcase and highlight the breadth of design talent within the North East. Whilst also providing the customers with a chance to purchase the items with no High street mark up and 100% of the profit going to the designers.
