Set of Drawers are transforming The Mushroom Works gallery space into a giant canvas and inviting everyone to draw on the walls. The result will be an extremely happy giant communal doodle.
We all know children need no encouragement to get drawing and will be rewarded with squash and cake at the earlier event. However adults may be shy about their pen skills so free drinks will be exchanged for their first doodles, to lubricate the process. Bring your sharpies!
Set of Drawers began in 2007 when Bethan Laker went in search of other Illustrators who, she knew, must be doodling away on their lonesome nearby. She dreamed of people who would talk, share and celebrate Illustration and was lucky enough to meet with Clare Armstrong, Josie Brookes Lara Robinson and Deborah Snell.
Set of Drawers continue to promote their love of cutting, sticking and drawing to the good people of North East England. They have worked on hearty pirate commissions for Shoofly Publishing and have exhibited at Northern Stage and Durham Light Infantry.
The true variety of their work and passion for drawing can be seen in every task they undertake.
October is Big Draw month and Set of Drawers and The Mushroom Works are delighted to host this evening and celebrate drawing with whoever cares to join them!
