Half day consultancy

Shan Preddy, adviser and trainer to design firms across Europe, will be in Newcastle to run a masterclass on client relationships for Design Event on 28th September. You might already know Shan’s ever-popular books ‘How to Market Design Consultancy Services’ and ‘How to Run a Successful Design Business’.

While she is in Newcastle, she is offering a number of expert half-day consultancy clinics for design firms. Each clinic will be completely confidential. It will last three hours and will take place in central Newcastle. The cost is £475 plus VAT per clinic, which can include up to five of your people.

The subjects to be covered in the clinic are entirely up to you, but popular choices include reviews of:

- credentials presentation slides/ materials;
- market positioning and main sales messages;
- business development strategy and plan;
- client relationship policies and practices;
- market expansion plans, UK and overseas.

Shan Preddy is a Partner of PREDDY&CO. She is a business consultant, trainer and writer who specialises in working with design firms.  As well as providing strategic marketing consultancy and presentation, sales and negotiation skills training for PREDDY&CO’s clients, Shan regularly speaks at international congresses and she delivers best-selling seminars and workshops around the world.

Shan Preddy is the author of two design-sector books: How to Run a Successful Design Business and How to Market Design Consultancy Services, both published by Gower under the Design Council imprint.  She is a member of the Advisory Board of the UK Design Alliance, which promotes and delivers improves skills through its Good Design Practice campaigns, and she is an accredited consultant on the DBA (Design Business Association) Experts’ Register.

The masterclass programme is part of Design Exchange, the Design Event professional development programme supported by One North East, in association with Design Network North and is a Solutions for Business Product. The programme is also supported through a grant from the Design Council, which aims to boost some of the design promotion initiatives that design bodies and networks are already undertaking - helping them reach a wider audience of design buyers and users. Design Event is one of a number regional and national design organisations which has been awarded a grant to provide opportunities for designers to communicate the value of design and improve the reach of that message locally, regionally and nationally.
