Design Event began in 2005 as a festival and has grown to an organisation delivering an annual programme of design based exhibitions and events across the North East.

Our aims are :
- To celebrate and raise knowledge of design in the North East.
- To support regional designers, focusing on those who are at the early-mid stages of their careers with a view to developing a sustainable supportive design community.
- To put the North East on the map as a hotbed of design talent and creativity across design disciplines.
Our objectives are :
- To showcase innovative new work that delights and inspires.
- To profile high quality regional design talent and their work.
- Encourage designers in the region to be creative and raise their game.
- Provide personal development and business support to designers and design curators.
