Westergaard Designs comprises a unique collection of furniture and products created by designer Polly Westergaard who attributes her influences to her Danish ancestry and British roots. This fusion of cultural perspectives results in chic, contemporary, innovative pieces, designed for longevity while retaining a fresh take for modern living.
Polly investigates a variety of different mediums from upholstery to ceramics, exploring methods in which she can create design which will evoke an emotion. Often exploring the inner child in us all, Polly
develops products which provoke nostalgic feelings with a playful twist. Polly often explores 2D images applying and transforming these into 3D functional objects such as clocks, mugs, and mirrors.
The Karakter range, which Polly will exhibit at Tent London for the first time, was inspired by Delft ware and Royal Copenhagen and uses the traditional royal blue colour scheme often associated with decorated china. Adding a splash of Westergaard Design character, Polly has developed a woodland scene with a range of animals for a magical feel and brings forest life into the home. The designs will be applied to a range of crockery creating a lovely set that would fit perfectly in modern and traditionally styled homes alike.,
