This year Design Event North East will take place from 22-31 October focusing on the theme of Conversation.

Due to changes in funding, we are doing things a bit differently this year with 4 events centrally curated by the Design Event team, and a series of exhibitions and events delivered by other galleries, studios and groups that run alongside these elements to provide a holistic and innovative Design Event North East festival.

 

 

Central events so far include :

Design Event MART 
Once again taking place at Baltic this curated exhibition will showcase new work by leading North East designers.

The Art of Conversation
A large scale exhibition of graphics and Illustration work by national and international designers responding to the theme and exhibited in public spaces.

Pecha Kucha
Fast paced, inspiration from the region’s movers, shakers, creators and inventors.

Studio Conversations
A series of behind the scenes talks and discussions at design studios.
