Conny Freyer from Troika presentation
Simon 'Sanky' Sankarayya from AllofUs and Conny Freyer of Troika will be speaking about collaborative digital design practice at the next Design Event talk on 10 May 2011.
They will talk about their respective organisations and a range of commercial and cultural projects that they have been involved with. They will also talk about partners that they have collaborated with to realise concepts and how these relationships have worked.
Sanky and Conny will each share their thoughts on the impact of changing technologies on design consultancies and look at the significance of interactive digital design and possible directions for the future.
Troika
Troika are Eva Rucki, Conny Freyer and Sebastian Noel, who met while studying at the Royal College of Art, and subsequently started their London-based studio in 2003. Troika is widely known for its experiential artworks that can be positioned at the junction where art, architecture, and technical inventions intersect. Notable in their formal simplicity and sense of humour, Troika's installations and sculptures engage the viewer in an often playful, sometimes contemplative manner. The three work with craftsmen, engineers, researchers and scientists and create multi-layered objects, installations, sculptures and exhibitions. www.troika.uk.com
Simon 'Sanky' Sankarayya
Sanky co-founded AllofUs in October 2003, a multi-disciplinary interactive design consultancy and he became president of D&AD in September 2010.
Sankarayys's work is often ground-breaking, always intelligent and beautifully executed. Award wins include Best of Show in the Deisgn Week Awards in 2001 for MTV2 On Air idents while at Digit and in 2009 for the Microsoft Interactive Canvas project with AllofUs. His focus is now on installations for the likes of the Science Museum and The Public, and collaborations such as those with branding group Somone and Simon Waterfall's group Fray on projects in Russia and elsewhere." Design Week September 2010 Lynda Relph-Knight.
