‘The Uses of Intelligence’: Surveillance Society, offers a tantalizing glimpse into the world of surveillance technology. The exhibition brings together different areas of design from the more adventurous end of ‘consumer’ culture influenced by spying technologies to high-end products for the surveillance market.
With a rare opportunity to see one of the original Enigma machines used during the World War II, for the encryption and decryption of secret messages to innovative designs by Troika, which propose a series products for a surveillance obsessed future.
From important historical artifacts to innovative designs and concepts yet to be realised, ‘The Uses of Intelligence’: Surveillance Society asks to what extent we should tolerate incursions into our civil liberties.
