Hard Hats at the ready!  Come along and have a sneak preview of the eagerly anticipated Northern Design Centre, currently under construction and due to open early 2012.  This is a chance for a limited number of individuals to meet the Site Manager for a tour around the newest addition to the prestigious Baltic Business Quarter, located on Gateshead Quays.

Northern Design Centre will be the newest - and coolest - icon on the NewcastleGateshead skyline.  Designed to fit perfectly at the heart of the vibrant and diverse Baltic Business Quarter, it will be a catalyst for innovation, growth and competitiveness in the region.  It will offer creative space for the region's most talented designers with incubation units for exciting start ups, studios for established businesses, and bespoke conference and research facilities.

And with a dedicated business collaboration network, Design Network North, based on site, Northern Design Centre will emerge as the regional focal point for NewcastleGateshead's growing design industry.

Baltic Business Quarter itself is poised to become a dense, high-quality office development of over one million sq ft and 5,000 people. It provides a modern urban feel on the Gateshead Quayside and is within easy reach of over one million people.

With a state-of-the-art, world-class communications infrastructure offering one of the countries first ‘open access’ next generation broadband networks, delivering speeds up to 10 Gb, Baltic Business Quarter is a great place to do business.

The project has been awarded £4.95 million from the European Union's European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Competitiveness Programme 2007-13. The ERDF programme is bringing over £300 million into the North East to support innovation, enterprise and business support across the region.
