JJF studio is the professional practice of designer Jamie Josef Fry, we deal in spacial design, furniture design alongside branding and other graphic design applications on both a business to business level and direct to the consumer.
The bookshelf was originally designed for an interior commission back in the early naughties while I was still studying at Nottingham Trent, the original piece was heavily inspired by the vein of an oak leaf as the oak leaf played a massive role in the interior. It wasn't until I moved to Newcastle and setup at 36 Lime Street that the machinery became available to me to develop a jointing system to create a stronger more commercially viable product.
Jamie Josef Fry is a designer from the North East and currently based here, long walks on Saltburn beach trying to find the perfect pebble and obsession 'how it works' lead to a natural career choice.
The 'Bookshelf' is designed to be as simple a product as possible, its form follows and inspires its function.
